ECS Helps NeSL Digitise and Execute Non-registrable Contracts and Agreements in Tamil Nadu

Continuing its winning streak of developing world-class digital platforms that facilitate ‘Ease of Doing Business’ and enhance the lives of discerning Indian citizens, ECS recently helped National E-Governance Services Ltd. (NeSL) – a Union Government Company, to develop a fully-digital platform to enable paperless execution of non-registrable agreements and digital payment of Stamp Duty in the the state of Tamil Nadu.

Christened ‘e-Kaiyoppam’, the platform seamlessly digitises the execution process of non-registrable contracts like Rent Agreements, Affidavits, Bank Guarantees, Power of Attorney documents, etc., and allows all the parties to the contract to pay the Stamp Duty amount digitally, and remotely e-sign these documents.

The need to develop the e-Kaiyoppam platform arose from the fact that a digitised way of life has become the new normal in today’s pandemic-infused world, and legal documentation and contractual agreements had to adapt to the changing times to offer safer, faster, and paperless methods of contract executions.

With the e-Kaiyoppam platform, the parties to a non-registrable contract do not have to be physically present to sign or stamp the contract. Equipped with e-Kaiyoppam’s in-built e-Signing and e-Stamping features, the parties can sign and stamp the contracts virtually anytime, anywhere.

For example, when executing a Rent Agreement, all the parties (Owner, Tenant, and Witnesses) can view the Rent Agreement online on the e-Kaiyoppam platform, pay the Stamp Duty amount digitally  through the platform’s payment gateway and e-sign the e-stamped Rent Agreement by using the platform’s in-built Aadhaar e-Sign feature, without any intervention of a broker or staff of the Registrar’s office.

Executing a non-registrable contract through the e-Kaiyoppam platform is simple, easy, and fast. Just sign-up on the e-Kaiyoppam platform, verify your identity, activate your e-Kaiyoppam account, log in and get started.
